This cosy, romantic hideaway has recently been renovated, turning it into a stunning barn conversion perfect for a couples’ break. With modern comforts and luxury furnishings, as well as plenty of character, both you and your pet will love coming home after a day exploring the many beautiful walks right on your doorstep.

Just a 10-minute drive from Sparrow’s Roost (or an hour’s scenic walk), you’ll find the Crich Tramway Museum. Both dogs and humans can ride the vintage trams, enjoying the scenery and unique experience as they travel up and down a mile-long track, where you’ll find a recreated period street, woodland walk and picnic and play areas. Make sure to check the website for opening times and restrictions during the winter months.
Winsmore Cottage (Over Haddon, near Bakewell)
This is another charming couple’s retreat in the spectacular Peak District, perfect for escaping for a few days rest and relaxation. With a gorgeous selection of luxury features, including a limestone wet room, boot room and large conservatory, it’s a great place to unwind and enjoy your fantastic surroundings. Up to two dogs are welcome, meaning you can take adventage of the many lovely walks and the pretty nearby town of Bakewell, which has several dog-friendly pubs and cafes.

Just a 15-minute car journey from this property, you’ll find the famous Chatsworth House. At the time of writing, they’re even holding a special exhibition - ‘The Dog’. This fun day out celebrates man’s best friend with paintings, drawings, sculptures, letters and photographs; all capturing what we love most about our canine companions. The exhibition runs between 23rd Match and 6th October 2019 but even once it ends, there’s plenty for you and your pet to enjoy during a visit to Chatsworth. Dogs are welcome in the 105-acre garden and throughout the even more impressive park, although they must be kept on a lead. Doggy drinking stations can be found across the park, and furry friends are also welcome in the café and shop.
