Knowledgeable Staff

All our properties are viewed by the Rural Retreats booking team so, if you need help deciding which property would best suit your requirements, benefit from our friendly booking team's advice by calling 01386 701177. When you arrive at your chosen property, you will receive a courtesy call from your housekeeper to ensure everything is as it should be.

Every 'Creature Comfort'

On arrival, your complimentary hamper or starter pack will be sitting on your kitchen table and where available, the log fire waiting to be lit. Upstairs the beds will be freshly made with towels neatly laid out for you. All the ingredients for your special break.

Guests at many properties are permitted to stay until 6pm on Sunday (for a nominal fee) with a minimum two-night stay at certain times of year, subject to availability.

No Hidden Extras

Unlike many of our competitors, there is no charge for the use of linen, towels, electricity, fire logs or cots and high chairs. The only item for which you may be charged during your stay is the use of the telephone.

Flexible Booking Dates

When time is at a premium you can still enjoy a Rural Retreats break as our minimum stay is just two nights. Short breaks of two or three nights are available most of the year at the majority of our properties. Nor should start days be a problem. If, for example, you wish to book Wednesday to Wednesday, there are many properties without a fixed changeover day, subject to availability. This flexibility allows guests to explore as much of the area as they wish.

Cots and High Chairs

A travel cot and foldaway high chair are available at many or our properties free of charge and on request. One or two properties may make a small charge for this, please check the property description. Cot linen will also be provided at most properties with no extra charge. Again, please check the individual property descriptions for availability. Please note that not all high chairs have harnesses. Please ask the housekeeper to confirm when you arrange key collection.

Pets

Many of our properties accept up to two wellbehaved dogs. For reasons of hygiene, and out of consideration for future guests, we ask pet owners to ensure that the property and its grounds are left clean. Please limit your dog to the living floor of the property and keep them off any furniture. Dogs must not be left unattended at the property. There is a charge for taking pets, to help cover the extra cost of housekeeping. Sorry, no cats or other animals. Please note that not all properties have enclosed gardens. Please check when booking your property.

Equipment

TVs, irons and boards, hairdryers, fridges and microwaves are standard inventory, as is central heating or similar (unless otherwise stated). Please check individual property descriptions for dishwashers, freezers, washing machines, dryers, CD/DVD players and barbecues.

Free Broadband Internet Access

We offer FREE broadband or WiFi facilities at our properties where this service is available. Please check the individual property details before making your booking, to ensure this facility is still available, as from time to time, these services may be withdrawn or unavailable.

Whilst the owner will make every effort to ensure this service is available, in the event that it is not, due to circumstances outside their control, neither Rural Retreats nor the owner will be held liable.

Utility Bills

There is no charge for heating, electricity, gas or solid fuel.

Telephone

Most properties will have telephone facilities. These range from pay phones to pay-as-you-go mobiles, to standard landlines with honesty boxes. Please note a number of properties do not provide a phone or there may be restrictions on calls. Mobile network coverage may be limited in some areas. If it is vital that you have phone facilities during your stay, please ensure that you check this at the time of booking.
