Head to the coast
As an island we are lucky enough to have miles and miles of wonderful coastline. There are the golden-sanded beaches of the south coast with Dorset, Devon and Cornwall home to famous coves and cliffs and great sandy stretches. The much loved coastline of East Anglia is rich in wildlife and is known for its inedible birdlife – a firm favourite with many. Pembrokeshire has earned itself National Park status for its rugged beauty and scenic lookouts while up in Scotland, dramatic cliffs and stunning views of the various isolated islands makes for great walks.

National Parks
Britain is home to no less than 15 National Parks. These outstanding areas are each unique and glorious and protect heritage, culture, history, beauty and wildlife. We are extremely privileged to have access to these incredible areas and should take the opportunity to explore these gems.

These two organisations strive to protect Britain's special places. Castles, ruins, gardens and parklands, coastline, countryside and centuries of history are all preserved and cared for so that members of the public can enjoy them for years to come. There are National Trust and English Heritage properties throughout the UK so look out for your closest one when you're on holiday and make a day trip out of it.

Go Walking
The great thing about a 'staycation' is that you can truly relax and unwind. Sometimes you just need a little break to reconnect with loved ones. Why not take a walk together in the beautiful surroundings? Britain is a fantastic place for walks because there is something for everyone. Choose your ideal length, terrain, scenery, altitude etc and you are guaranteed to find a walking route that suits you. Britain is crisscrossed by a web of National Trails, walking routes, public rights of way, bridleways, footpaths and long distance paths. They are usually well signposted too, so there will be no worries about getting lost.
