The May Bank Holiday is almost upon us and what a perfect excuse to get away and take full advantage of the extra long weekend... especially as the kids are off school too!

Pelorus Cottage, Trevose Head Lighthouse, Near Padstow, Cornwall
If you fancy a Cornwall holiday with a real difference why not stay at Pelorus Cottage, a stunning lighthouse cottage located on the headland between the sandy beaches of Harlyn and Constantine Bays. Pelorus Cottage enjoys spectacular views out to sea, and children are sure to enjoy spotting all the different boats during your stay here!

Harwood Cottage, Hovingham, Yorkshire
Harwood Cottage is a recently renovated, period stone property which dates back over 200 years. It is situated in the village of Hovingham which is right on the fringe of the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and provides a great base for exploring all of the area's walks (which you can find here). Harwood Cottage is only 17 miles from the historic city of York, and if the beach is calling then Scarborough is just 32 miles away.
A day out in York is certainly a must with so much to see and do. One favourite with the younger ones (and with the grown ups too!) is York’s Chocolate Story guided tour, unbeatable for any chocolate lover. Take a look at York's Chocolate Story website.
