The Royal Norfolk Show: stands, shows, competitions, animals, food and fun for all!

What is The Norfolk Show?

The famous Norfolk Show has become the largest two-day agricultural show in England. With one or two rare exceptions this show has been held every year since 1847, and is a huge favourite with both locals and visitors to the area.

The Norfolk Show is held on the showground in Norwich which is some 150 acres large, meaning there is plenty of space for all the different events, rides, shows and stalls, not to mention over 3000 animals! Usually taking place over a Wednesday and Thursday, the Norfolk show has something for everyone and makes for a fantastic family day out.

What is there to See and Do?

Being a celebration of the county's agricultural industry and heritage, there is an incredible array of livestock with different shows and competitions, show jumping and prize winning to enjoy. You'll get to see farm animals such as pigs, sheep, cattle, poultry and goats. Watch the heavy horses demonstrate their strength and skill and see how farm machinery has changed through the years right up to today's hi-tech tractors.

The Norfolk Show aims to be an experience for all the family and provides the opportunity for everyone to really get stuck in. Youngsters can get hands-on and learn in the Discovery Zone; you can enjoy the Raptor Trust's demonstration or have a go on some of the rides. Why not visit the Food Hall and tempt your taste buds with all the local flavours and dishes? There's an incredible range of food to try with more than 70 local producers selling sizzling sausages, creamy cakes, pickles, jams, breads and lots of local drink! Watch cooking demonstrations by some of Norfolk's top chefs; learn how to shear a sheep, have a go at archery, wander the Art Exhibition or stop in at the Flower & Garden Show.

This year there is over is over 600 trade stands browse with everything from food and local produce to clothes and jewellery. The range and variety is wonderful and you are sure to find something that sparks your fancy. Once you've seen and done all that you want to why not make your way over to the bandstand and enjoy an afternoon of live music? Relax on the grass in the sun with a cool drink and listen to the various acts perform.
