A really superb cottage. Spacious rooms and very well appointed. We really enjoyed the quiet surroundings and beautiful countryside. Elaine and Steve made us very welcome with a splendid hamper. We look forward to our next visit.
Excellent, warm cosy cottage in beautiful quiet countryside setting.
We had a fantastic holiday at Woodland Cottage. The house is surprisingly spacious and tastefully furnished and we found it a restful and tranquil place to spend time. We enjoyed the luxury of having baths rather than our usual showers! We went for a walk each evening in the gorgeous grounds and saw deer every time. The carp in the pond are a sight to behold as well! The cottage is well placed for days out and local shops but is blissfully quiet. The hosts were friendly but discreet. We’d heartily recommend Woodland Cottage.
The cottage was immaculate, comfortable and extremely well equipped. Elaine was a perfect host, making sure we had everything we needed but without being intrusive. The welcome hamper was more than we could have expected. Everything was perfect.
A lovely and very spacious cottage with very high quality furnishings and fittings. Set in a secluded valley in peaceful surroundings. Friendly and attentive hostess (Elaine) offering a better than usual welcome & package with wine and food. A Roe deer was to be seen in the evenings in a nearby field and on the last day it spent time grazing only a few feet from the cottage door. Good places to eat and a good under-cover market in the nearest town, South Molton. NB Local roads to the property not in good condition (not the owner's fault!) and the post code takes you to the farm on the opposite side of the road so don't miss the entrance!
This is a perfect "Rural Retreat". It is a beautifully designed cottage in an idyllic setting. It is warm, comfortable, spotlessly clean and the owners could not have been kinder. The welcome hamper was lovely and very generous.
A beautiful cottage in a lovely location. Warm and comfortable in every way. Very kind hosts. We shall definitely return
Spacious cottage in a lovely setting, very clean lots of wildlife..red deer, buzzards, a hare and lots of small birds in the trees. Owners allowed us to feed the carp in their lake , lovely to watch them. Lovely hamper and fresh flowers were appreciated. Elaine was very welcoming.
Beautiful cottage in an idyllic location with friendly host. Fabulous welcome hamper very much appreciated!
We had a lovely stay at Woodland Cottage, the location was quiet, but not too far from a main road if you are townies like us. It was great seeing the wildlife, deer, stags, and buzzards. Elaine and Steve are fantastic, the welcoming hamper is the best we have ever had and the cottage is of a very high standard. Certainly would recommend the cottage to anyone.
Beautiful, very well maintained spotless cottage in a quiet and rural location. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and make sure all your needs are met. The richly filled welcome hamper was a real bonus!
Wonderful hosts, great welcome pack, cottage very comfortable and clean..
Great place, elaine is a fantastic host
It's a wonderful cottage and, if you want a real escape, it is deep into the countryside. Elaine, the owner, is very friendly (but not intrusive) and is very willing to assist you with any questions that you may have.
Clean comfy well equipped Great position Friendly owners
Excellent cottage and the owners were among the best housekeepers. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. To sum up, exceptional cottage in a beautiful location. Highly recommended
This was the ultimate rural retreat, with plenty of space inside and out, wildlife in abundance and kind and helpful hosts. Accommodation is stylish and comfortable, the surroundings picturesque. It was an extra treat to enjoy the fresh eggs included in our hamper.
Excellent location. Fantastic cottage. Great reception from owner including enhanced hamper. The grounds are beautiful and we made full use if the fields for walking, eating and drinking.

Woodland Cottage was a gorgeous place to spend a few days - one of the very best cottages we have stayed in during many years of using Rural Retreats. The welcome hamper was the best quality and most generous of all that we have had. Elaine provided a very warm welcome and the cottage was so clean and comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped. Woodland Cottage was the perfect place to relax and unwind. It was a true rural retreat in every sense.
