The Garden Barn is fabulous, superbly appointed and the welcome hamper was exceptional. Large comfortable living and dining area, excellent large kitchen equipped with everything one could need for self catering. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, the bedrooms well appointed, the beds very comfortable, the en suite and the second shower room were again equipped to a high standard. We've stayed in many gites in France and Italy and villas in Spain but The Barn is probably the best of all the places we have stayed in over the years.
What fantastic feedback for The Garden Barn and thank you so much for taking the time to leave your lovely comments.
A lovely, interesting building in a beautiful part of the country that made our Christmas week magical. Pat and Johnny are great hosts and quickly addressed a heating issue in one of the bedrooms. Would highly recommend.
Thank you so much for leaving such a lovely review of your Christmas stay at The Garden Barn. We agree that it is a special property which the owners look after beautifully..
Lovely well equipped and beautiful barn with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Things to consider are that access is up a few uneven and slippery steps so our parents (in their 80s) had to be assisted. The stables bedrooms have a thin panel wall between them so zero soundproofing. The internal stairs were fine for the elderly parents. There is barely any phone signal inside the barn but there is a signal outside. WiFi is OK. There is a good shop in the village too.
A really beautiful barn conversion in the grounds of a C14th house. Very well kitted out and clean. Nice gardens to sit and relax in. A short drive to Hay on Wye
Fantastic accommodation. Full of character and history. Everything you need, nice attention to detail, and a thoughtful welcome basket upon arrival. Warm, comfy and cosy. Great for what we needed as three couples, two kids, and a dog. Recommended.
The Barn is very comfortable and the owners Pat and Johnny were really lovely people who were very helpful.
This is a wonderful cottage There was plenty of space for 5 adults, 2 children and a dog The cottage had lots of character and charm The open plan living area was perfect for us as an extended family who wanted to share cooking and entertaining The bedrooms had lots of character with some unusual features The gardens were beautiful There were secluded areas for a glass of bubbly or a cup of coffee and large open spaces where the children could play ball games or hide and seek We had a lovely day visiting Hay on Wye where we had a lovely lunch at the Granary, a walk around the quaint shops and a walk along the river There is a great walk about 20minutes drive away called The Cats Back Well worth it if you like walking We would definitely recommend this cottage We would love to stay here again
Lovely setting and very welcoming hosts
The Garden Barn was such a great place to stay and Pat & Johnny were very helpful when it came to communication and finding the place, they were also only a message away if you needed anything like more wood for the fire but were never invasive or felt like part of your stay. The barn itself is well furnished and has everything you need for your stay. The welcome hamper was also excellent. Lovely walks around the local area to be had with maps in the barns folder. If I had to make one observation it would be that it needs an outside light to light around the entrance, way/path to the garden/road and a step off the road up the little bank rather than a grass verge. This has no impact on your stay or the quality of accommodation on offer though. 5 stars and highly recommend
Beautiful place both inside and the gardens. Really high spec and really well kitted out.
Lovely, big house in a gorgeous village in Herefore. Perfect for big group staycations. Amazing gardens and surroundings nearby, plus Pat and and Johnny were wonderful, helpful host. Couldn't recommend it enough!
The barn was stunning, much nicer in real life and the surroundings were perfect as well. Pat was a wonderful host and there was a lovely welcome hamper ready for us. The garden really made our stay and it couldn't have been any cleaner as well, we had a lovely time and couldn't recommend it more!
