Everything about this place is perfect. The location, the building itself, the stuff in the Bothy, the standard of everything within the Bothy, the staff on the estate, the hamper & cleanliness of the place, the P & Q, the Granery & the House and gardens and the 'things to do' within a range of not too many miles away.
What a fabulous review for The Gardener's Bothy and the Weston Park Estate. Thank you so much for leaving your feedback.
Beautiful, immaculately presented accommodation. Superb quiet setting. A lovely place to unwind & relax. Great restaurant on site.
immaculately presented property, very well equipped. The welcome hamper was very welcome and it was helpful to be able to pre-order our first supper from The Granary Restaurant. Excellent location for visiting both Shropshire and Staffordshire.
Gardeners bothy very comfortable, great location. We enjoyed lovely walks in Weston park and loved the Grsnary restaurant. Friendly staff. This was our third time at the cottage snd hood to return next year.
A beautiful and relaxing environment
A really nice place however we were given an already pre-used j cloth in the kitchen, no soap in the kitchen and the bath taps are on the wrong way around, I contacted Weston immediately and they were very apologetic, we would definitely stay again
Beautiful cottage in lovely surroundings. The Granary restaurant is excellent with very friendly staff - not cheap but worth treating yourself!
Ideal place to stay to visit the area
Excellent accommodation and very thoughtful welcome pack.
What a brilliant stay we had here the first weekend in January. The place is immaculate and very tastefully decorated. The breakfast hamper is a lovely touch and there was everything needed in the kitchen to cook a tasty breakfast each morning. Having the restaurant round the corner, serving good hearty, home grown food was a bonus. The ladies serving couldn’t have done more for us and the chef also popped into our pod to say Hi! Having the estate to ourselves to walk round was also great, to really appreciate the surroundings and check out the other properties available! Can’t recommend a stay here highly enough and we will definitely be back.
Our second consecutive Christmas stay and the property still meets the high expectations that it set last year. It is a very large space for two and equipped to feel like home from home, with lovely little touches like the welcome pack, as well as candles, quirky finishing touches like the watering can lamp, and of course the beautifully decorated tree. The settees won't be to everyone's liking but we did find a way to get settled. More information about bins/recycling would be helpful - where we're from a green wheelie bin is for garden waste and we ended up bringing all our recycling home as we couldn't be sure it wouldn't just go to landfill. Also the fridge is a little small for a week's stay over Christmas which demands both food and drink chillage! These are small observations though - in general we love the stillness and solitude, the huuuuuge bed, luxurious bathroom and log burner for the evening. Sadly I think we've been priced out of staying again next Christmas but it will stay on the wishlist for future visits.
Almost perfect if only the sofas were replaced! No support whatsoever and once you are sitting you sink so low it’s hard to get off them, when you’re on holiday you look forward to relaxing and sitting down for a change. Seriously consider replacing these, we would be back in a heartbeat if you did!
Beautiful property in amazing location
This was by far and above the most spacious one-bedroomed cottage we've stayed in, and in the gorgeous setting of Weston Park. If I had to pick one favourite space it would be the bathroom.
The cottage was lovely so clean and well equipped. Beautiful grounds to walk around and lovely food at the Granary Brasserie. So relaxing! Highly recommend this gorgeous cottage
Very well equipped and clean holiday cottage with “ private” access to the estate’s walled garden. With very welcoming hamper. Everything you need to get away from it all. Sofa’s a little bit uncomfortable….
Wonderful cottage, tastefully appointed with interesting and quirky accessories and SO much space for two people. Fantastic walks through lovely woods, lakes and rolling countryside on Weston Park. Also some beautiful gardens to visit within a few miles of Telford and not forgetting Ironbridge museums. A lovely county.
A really lovely, comfortable cottage in peaceful and beautiful grounds. We would have rated it higher except that there was Wi-Fi as advertised but no broadband. We were therefore, unable to access any reading material and there was none in the cottage save two tomes on country estates! We reported the lack to both the housekeeper and to Rural Retreats but received no feedback, explanation or apology. It seems from the visitors book that this is a rather permanent problem and therefore think the property should not be advertised as having Wi-Fi Denise Poole Lewes Sussex
We have spoken to The Weston Park Estate and they have no knowledge of any internet disruption at The Gardener's Bothy. We can definitely confirm that there is broadband available and it is working.
The property overall was clean, and very well presented, decor was delightfull, but the two sofa's were very uncomfortable the backs were fine but the seat was not, bedroom was lovely however the two windows in the ceiling had no cover that we could see so let in a lot of early light, overall though a very well presented property and the G/F bread was a nice gesture too x
