Bryn Derw is a beautiful, comfortable cottage in a wonderful, peaceful location (even though it was a little hard to find!) The whole cottage has a lovely ambience and we felt at home almost as soon as we arrived. It's proximity to Bodnant gardens and Conwy is just perfect and our only complaint was that we only had 3 nights there. We really didn't want to leave!
Lovely secluded cottage - just what we wanted..
Lovely clean cottage. Comfortable beds and sofas. Kitchen area is spacious. Very lovely location although no views of Snowdonia from this cottage. Tv and DVd worked just about (broken remote control ) but really need updating and would have appreciated a better selection of DVDs as there isn’t a smart TV. Would really have appreciated some bread and milk on arrival rather than biscuits and wine. WiFi is very patchy but realise this is due to the location. Be warned if taking teenagers!
We wanted remote luxury with beautiful views...which is what we got.
Another wonderful cottage from Rural Retreats! Stunning location set in the beautiful Bodnant estate. Ideal for peacful uniterupted walks through woodland and open fields. Stunning views of the Snowdonia range and Colwyn Bay a short walk from the cottage. Lovely cottage and well equipped. Parking for one vehicle but you could squeeze another one in if required. Some minor defects at the time of our stay. - the large oven and grill didnt work and the shower leaked into the lounge area below, both reported. (We used the bath instead) Little or no internet and only patchy at best, but none of this mattered to us as we were there to get away from it all for a few days. Great log burner, well stocked with logs. Very peaceful. The only people we saw in three days were a sheep farmer and his dog and a lady walking her dog. Great farm shop nearby with a good restaurant and cafe thst does lovely breakfasts and lunches.
Cottage was excellent and it suited our needs. It was very comfortable. The approach Road a bit tricky for a conventional car. TV didn’t seem to work very well, it wasn’t easy to control.
The cottage was comfortable and warm which was great as the weather was poor. The oven was a bit temperamental, but we managed. Would happily stay here again.
This is a beautiful cottage in a fantastic location. We were delighted with the gorgeous hamper. The cottage was very clean and well equipped.
Absolutely beautiful cottage on the Bodnant Estate, convenient to Bodnant Garden, Snowdonia, Conwy Castle, and Llandudno. The cottage itself is spacious, well-decorated, and full of character. It's set in the middle of a rural area with gorgeous views. We used it as a base to see the sights throughout North Wales. Highly, highly recommend!
Lovely location, although a bit more remote than we thought, quite a trek to get there up steep hill and narrow roads. However the cottage was great, very quiet and lovely interiors, very well equipped. Would definitely return. Lots of walks from the door over the Bodnant Estate.
Problems with the heating system - first too little and then too much - coupled with difficulty in contacting the management to resolve this disturbed an otherwise good and peaceful break. Previous visitors had removed guides to local walks which limited our overall enjoyment of the stay. Too many visitors around with dogs as pets fouling local walks.
Great cottage but would worry about road in if there was torrential rain as the road is quite steep.A less confident driver would struggle.
Lack of good quality Wi Fi made the remote location more of a pain for checking and booking things. Cottage had not enough natural light so felt a bit gloomy at times
Fabulous place. Very comfortable, relaxing and peaceful.
