More than everything you needed was there. Host was amazing. Cooking on the open fire brill.
Another lovely review for Anne's Hut. Thank you so much for taking the trouble to leave your feedback.
Wonderfully equipped Shepard's hut in a beautiful rural location, perfect for a true retreat from the world, we planned to explore the local area, but we enjoyed the peace so much we stayed sitting with the little log fire and a good book watching the squirrels in the woods instead. There is a wealth of information in the local guide left in the hut including laminated maps for walking and cycling. Euan was a wonderful host and looked after us well, leaving a host of goodies for us, and even brought us some delicious sausages to cook on the fire the first night, and helped us out with some petrol before we left! The lanes up were a little dicey, in the dark and rain, I'd recommend approaching from Chepstow side, whilst a bit longer, a much more straightforward journey! Unless you like a long walk, don't walk to the shops, the local one in the village had closed down, and the next one left us with an 8mile round-trip, the bath was certainly very welcome after! We will most certainly be back, and maybe even adventure out next time.
Euan made us feel so welcome when we first arrived and had set the area up beautiful, it was like walking into a fairy tale. Both my husband and I agree that this was the best holiday we have been on. We got the peace and quiet of the countryside with only the owls and robins as neighbours but also the luxury of hot running water, amazing showers, magical bathtub, inside kitchen and an amazing bed. They have really thought of all your needs, comforts and experiences whilst staying with them. The hammock and outside chairs where a dream to have lazy days on with the firepit all prepped for cooking. We felt like we were in our own little world and would have stayed forever. Also the fact that Euan built these huts himself and all the added features to make this stay truly amazing and memorable. Thank you so much for everything, even the fairy who topped up the logs for the fire pit! We will be seeing you again. If there was an option for more Stars you would have given them.
Superb place, fantastic facilities, great spot, relaxing and classy
Friendly and helpful reception on arrival. Excellent facilities. Idyllic location.
Friendly welcome, very comfortable and well furnished accommodation, excellent position if you want a quiet location (which we did). The host went to a lot of trouble, lighting the fire pit for us before we arrived, and getting in the type of wine we preferred. An excellent holiday, and we are hoping to return next year.
Such a beautiful location in the Wye valley. This is the only hut on-site and the host was so welcoming and helpful. It is very rural but this was just perfect for us after our busy wedding. There are many local walks and the nearby Tintern Abbey is stunning. The two huts (one bedroom and one bathroom) are turned out to a high standard. Highly recommended!
A truly wonderful stay - nature meets luxury in a perfect marriage! Anne's Hut is superbly appointed, every detail taken care of, and Euan is an exceptional host, providing a warm and most generous welcome, always available for any queries, promptly addressed. A lovely place to stay in any weather, the rain we had for 2 days gave a chance to read and lounge on the extremely comfortable bed and the enormous bath. Although there are plenty of things to do/see in the area, we felt no need to venture far - exploring the woodland around Anne's Hut was as refreshing and relaxing as the bath!
Excellent very comfortable & welcoming
Terrific place to stay. You feel cut off from the rest of the world ( even though you’re only 15 min from Chepstow). The hut has everything you need. It has a luxury feeling, and you can focus on chilling out and relaxing. Cook on the fire pit and sit out and watch the stars. An ideal getaway.
This is a stunning and unique place to stay. The owner, Euan, has thought of everything to make this a high quality, comfortable private location. We stayed here for three nights in May and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for peace and beautiful scenery with stylish, unusual accommodation.
beautiful - 5 star accomodation, perfect spot, very helpful and friendly owners who had thought of everything
My husband and I had a great time at Anne's Hut. Great Location. We loved the fire pit and eating dinner outside with the twinkly lights. Wonderful hosts and very helpful with anything you may need. Great place to chill and walking.
An amazing place. Beautifully thought out and so well done. Highly restorative - the open fire, natural darkness at nght, busy with owls, good walks in every direction and excellent food shops. We booked our next holiday there before we left, which I have never ever done before!
Anne’s Hut is a little piece of paradise. Warm, cosy, comfortable with everything you need. So much care and attention has been given to every detail. I have never stayed in anywhere quite like it...
Lovely hut, vetu clean and organized with wonderful hostages. Willbe back for sure had a lovely time 😍
Just amazing, recommend!
Beautiful setting. Beautiful hut. Hosts are friendly and want to ensure everything is perfect. Despite pretty awful weather and lots of rain it didn't really matter and the stay was perfect. Peaceful and listening to the wind, rain and animals were so relaxing and just what we needed. Can't wait to book again. A walk to Gaer Hill is recommended as is eating at the pub in St Arvans.
Only one word - Amazing !
The warmest welcome, a generous hamper, the most wonderful dogs, a cosy and comfy bed, beautiful location, hot baths with a wild view, clean and spacious... the list is endless! We were blessed with warm and sunny weather and can’t wait to go back when it’s a bit colder to really indulge in the corner fire after a walk down to Tintern. A few days here felt like a week away - come here if you want to escape and relax. I can’t recommend Anne’s Retreat enough!
